Murray House, Stanley Hong Kong

Murray House - a Victorian-era building located at the end of Stanley Main Street in Hong Kong. The building is relocated from Central. Built in 1844, it is part of Murray Barracks when Hong Kong was under the 4th year of British rule as a crown colony.
Murray House was once a government building in Central, it was dismantled in 1982 to make way for new buildings. The facade was stored in a warehouse after the building was dismantled, and the facade was rebuilt in Stanley in 1998. It was open to the public in 1999.
Murray House has several restaurants and the Hong Kong Maritime Museum.

When it was rebuilt, the ink used to label the pieces had washed off, and when they had finished constructing the building, they had six columns left over. These columns now stand outside the building.

Located to the west of Stanley Main Street, past the amphitheatre in Stanley Plaza and the Tin Hau Temple (Temple of the Queen of Heaven).

The adjacent Tin Hau Temple (Temple of the Queen of Heaven) was built by Cheung Po Tsai in 1767 and is one of the oldest temples in Hong Kong.

Stanley Waterfront - check out the Stanley bars and restaurants.

You can enjoy the waterfront or swin at the Stanley beaches.
